Get into the holiday spirit by attending a reading of a Christmas classic. And make a difference in your community by bringing a food donation as well!

River Union Stage will present their 10th annual reading of Charles Dickens’ A CHRISTMAS CAROL on Saturday, December 8. The event will take place at 7:30 p.m. at the Presbyterian Church of Milford. Admission is free with a donation of a non-perishable food item.

The performance will take place with the generous support of Shop Rite of Hunterdon and as part of the Christmas in Milford celebration. Everyone who attends the reading will receive a 10% discount good at nearly a dozen shops and restaurants in and around Milford. Presented in reader’s theatre style, audiences will have the opportunity to experience the beautiful prose narrative as well as the more familiar dialogue of Dickens’ classic work.

The Presbyterian Church will distribute the food donations to food pantries in Milford and Frenchtown. Please check to be sure all donations are not beyond their expiration date. You can also donate checks to a specific food pantry. For a list of needed items, visit http://milfordpresbyterian.org/mission/.

Funding has been made possible in part by the New Jersey State Council on the Arts/Department of State, a Partner Agency of the National Endowment for the Arts, through funds administered by the Hunterdon County Cultural and Heritage Commission.

The Presbyterian Church of Milford is located at 70 Bridge Street, Milford, NJ.
