If you’re racking your brain to find something romantic to do with your partner (or kids, for that matter) on Valentine’s Day, think no more. Here are a few favorite ways to spend the day in Hunterdon County:

Housed in a former train station, this Hunterdon Happening Winner for several years running is located alongside the Delaware River at the foot of the Lambertville-New Hope bridge. This year, the Inn is offering Romantic Getaway Packages that include special rates, a bottle of champagne or wine, hand-crafted chocolates and a bouquet of flowers.

A historic stone inn with cozy fireplaces and a charming bar, this restaurant is a 2018 Hunterdon Happening Romantic Place finalist. Interesting menu that includes buffalo, pheasant spring rolls and venison London broil.

The Clinton House

Built in the 1820s as a tavern and hotel, the landmark Clinton House serves up European favorites. It’s also a Best Place for Steak Hunterdon Happening List Winner 2019.

Ele Tule Restaurant is a cozy and colorful spot serving Mexican and Peruvian dishes. It was also a repeat Hunterdon Happening List Winner and Finalist for BYOB.
Get Pampered
Who couldn’t use a little pampering?! Zanya Spa Salon in Lambertville (a repeat Hunteron Happening List Finalist) offers a wide variety of treatments and services to relax and recharge with your special someone. A therapeutic massage (solo our as a couple!), a session in the warmth of the infrared sauna (designed for two), or a rejuvenating facial treatment will revitalize you both inside and out.
Take in a Show
Located on a 90-acre country estate just off of Route 78 in Clinton Township, Hunterdon Hills Playhouse features both matinee and dinner performances with top-named talent. Michelle Berting Brett is doing a Carpenter’s restrospective for Valentine’s Day, so that no matter how long you and your partner have been together it will feel as if you’ve only just begun. Hunterdon Hills Playhouse is the 2019 Happening List Winner for Best Theater.
Go Skating
Who could ever forget a date where you played the hokey pokey or did the limbo on skates? Frenchtown Roller Rink fits the bill, complete with a high-gloss wooden rink that will take you back to your first kiss. If you’re up for something more chill, try the Flemington Ice Arena.
Sip Wine in a Romantic Setting
Hunterdon County is home to four wineries and several neighboring ones, including 2019 Hunterdon Happening List Winner for Best Date Night Beneduce Vineyards in Pittstown, which hosts outdoor music on Saturday nights and Sunday afternoons in a tropical oasis. Unionville Vineyards in Ringoes is also worth a visit, as it was a 2018 Hunterdon Happening finalist for Best Romantic Escape.
Try a Ninja Obstacle Course
If competition brings out the best between you and your partner, try Next Level Sports Ninja obstacle course. Drop in classes are offered throughout the week and weekend. It’s great as a family event as well, so consider taking the kids along, as it’s a Hunterdon Happening Winner for Best Kid’s Play Place.
Paint and Party
Take part in a couple’s paint party hosted by the Paint Party Studio in Flemington, a Hunterdon Happening List Finalist for Best Group Activity.
