River Valley Realty, a full service, privately owned Real Estate Company located in Lambertville, New Jersey and Yardley, Pennsylvania, is now an official partner of Move For Hunger, a national hunger relief organization that has supplied more than 5 million pounds of food to local food banks throughout the country.

Food insecurity affects more than 71,000 people in Bucks and Hunterdon Counties, including nearly one in five children. Recognizing the urgency of their neighbors’ needs, River Valley Realty, who offers full real estate services to both buyers and sellers on both sides of the Delaware River, has joined Move For Hunger to fight hunger in their community and spread awareness of the growing need in New Jersey, Pennsylvania and across the United States.  Move for Hunger is a non-profit organization dedicated to fighting hunger and reducing food waste. They work with companies across North America to collect unwanted, unopened food from people who are relocating and deliver it to local food banks. To date, their network has collected over 5,000,000 pounds of food.

In celebration of the partnership and recognition of “Hunger Action Month” this September, the premiere real estate agency is hosting a month-long food drive in their offices. Beginning September 8, the public is encouraged to drop off non-perishable food items at the Lambertville office at 45 North Main Street.

“When I realized how many of our neighbors were going hungry, I knew we had to do something,” explains Kim Ward Bacso, owner of River Valley Realty. “Move For Hunger gave us the opportunity to help our community in a meaningful way.”

As a partner of Move For Hunger, River Valley Realty agents will provide hunger awareness materials to their clients, informing them of hunger in their community, and urging them to donate unwanted non-perishable food items during their moving process, rather than throw them out. Community members can also drop-off non-perishable food items year-round at the River Valley Realty offices.
