Husband and Wife Team Up for Frenchtown Exhibit

The husband and wife team of John Schmidtberger and Corinne Lalin will be showing their artwork at SFA Gallery this month. “Two Views: New Work from Maine and Pennsylvania” runs from September 6th through October 1st, with an opening reception planned for Saturday September 16th
from 4-6PM. Light Refreshments will be served. As always, SFA events are free and open to the public.

Corinne Lalin will be displaying work made with a broad range of media, including encaustic (a wax-based studio medium), plein-air oil pastel and oil painting, as well as mixed media. John Schmidtberger will be showing oil paintings from this year’s Bucks County Plein-Air Festival, a series of small studies painted on the Milford/Upper Black Eddy Bridge, and an extended series of landscapes and architectural subjects from Maine.

For the first time in many years, Corinne and John were able to paint plein-air style together during two extended trips to Maine. This show provides a unique opportunity to showcase their different sensibilities when working from the same subject matter.

“Two Views” coincides with SFA Gallery’s sixth year in business and the couple’s twenty-ninth wedding anniversary.
