Girls on the Run in Rochester

Girls on the Run in Rochester

Body image. Gender stereotypes. Peer pressure. 24/7 connectivity. Being a young girl isn’t easy, but having access to strong role models can go a long way in giving girls the confidence they need to embrace their individuality. That’s why organizations like Girls on the Run are so important.

“We believe that every girl can embrace who she is, can define who she wants to be, can rise to any challenge, can change the world. Can.” – Girls on the Run

Girls on the Run helps girls from 3rd-8th grade help gain a better understanding of who they are and what’s important to them. They are able to see the role of a team and healthy relationships while exploring how they can positively connect with and shape the world. These girls are inspired to take charge of their lives and define their future on their terms.

And these girls can do anything that they set their minds to. On Sunday, May 31st, they’ll takeover the streets of downtown Flemington for the Girls on the Run 5k. Registration is now OPEN!

All enrolled girls and certified coaches are pre-registered for the race, and online registration for family members, running buddies, friends, and community supporters (recreational and competitive runners, alike) will remain open through May 24.  Race day details and a link to register can be found on the GOTR 5K webpage.
