2015 Happening List Winner: Outdoor Event

“My bed’s faster than yours!”

Not something you hear on the street every day, but for over 30 years that challenge has rung out in Milford, NJ.

Founded in 1911, Milford remains one of the last unspoiled river towns along the Delaware. It is also home to Milford Alive which hosts the annual running of the Bed Race not seen anywhere else in Hunterdon County.

Bed racing is to Milford what snow skiing is to Vail. It’s what we do and do well! In 2012 Milford’s Fall Festival was rebranded Milford Alive and now includes all day music, food, vintage bi-plane flyovers, street entertainment, railroad speeders and handcars, comments by state and local politicians, crafters, art displays, authors and fireworks.

This free event, sponsored by the Milford Merchants Association, is celebrated to give back to the community.

The main stage, located just off Bridge Street, features a host of local and regional musical talent beginning at 12:00 noon and running into the evening. Craft, food and service vendors as well as local community organizations will be on hand beginning at noon. In 2015, Milford Alive will be held on Saturday, September 26th.
