Family First Friday at the Hunterdon County YMCA – Animal Kingdom

When: Friday, March 6 from 6:30 p.m. to 8 p.m.
Where: 144 W. Woodschurch Road, Flemington

Bring the family for an evening of themed crafts, activities, obstacle courses, snacks and fun. This event is for children ages 1-1/2 through 14 and parents. (At least one parent needs to participate with children.) The theme for this month is Animal Kingdom. This event is free for Family Full Members, $6 per child for Program Members and $8 per child for Non-Members. Adult chaperone is free! Register here.

Into the Woods at Music Mountain Theatre

When: Friday, March 6 at 8 p.m.; Saturday, March 7 at 3 p.m. and 8 p.m.; Sunday, March 8 at 3 p.m.
Where: 1483 Route 179, Lambertville

A childless Baker and his Wife endeavor to lift a Witch’s curse by journeying into the woods to collect the cow as white as milk, the cape as red as blood, the hair as yellow as corn, and the slipper as pure as gold. Along the way, they encounter classic fairy tale characters, and learn the responsibility that comes with getting what you want.

Stangl Farmer’s Market

When: Saturday, March 7 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Where: Stangl Factory, 50 Stangl Road, Flemington

This indoor, year-round farmers’ market features over 30 artisanal vendors.  Enjoy the Factory’s unique atmosphere as you browse the offerings which include locally-sourced vegetables, grass-fed meats, artisan breads and cheeses, pastured eggs, specialty prepared foods and desserts. The market also has a fine selection of crafts, including handmade baskets, turned wood, soaps and bath products and hand spun yarn.

Hatch Costume-Making Workshop

When: Saturday, March 7 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Where: ArtYard, 62A Trenton Avenue, Frenchtown

Build your own bird costume! Join ArtYard’s staff for a morning of constructing your personal bird costume for ArtYard’s impending 4th Hatch, a joyful parade and celebration of communal creativity on June 20th in Sunbeam Lenape Park, which will mark the near completion of ArtYard’s new building. No sewing skills required. For a small materials fee, ArtYard will provide basic supplies but you are also welcome to bring your own embellishments. Bird and costume-making enthusiasts of all levels and ages are welcome. Learn new skills in DIY costume-building, and then flock with us in June. Workhorse Rides at Howell Living History Farm

When: Saturday, March 7 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Where: 70 Woodens Lane, Lambertville

Children between the ages of 5 and 12 years old are invited to partipate in a Workhorse Rides program. Riders will not sit on saddles, nor will they ride bareback, but will sit atop fully harnessed, three-quarter-ton workhorses. The program is intended to give children a taste of early 20th-century farm life. So, in order to get a ride, children must first do their farm chores. The rides will be offered from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. on a first-come, first-served basis.

When: Saturday, March 7 from 8 p.m. – 11 p.m.
Where: The Ship Inn Restaurant and Brewery, 61 Bridge Street, Milford

The duo will perform as part of the official launch of Decadants Brewing Company at the Ship Inn. The duo will also be performing at Ironbound Hard Cider, 360 Route 5179 in Asbury on Sunday, March 15th at noon.

Cat Video Fest – Family Film Day

When: Sunday, March 8 from 4 p.m. to 5:30 p.m.
Where: ACME Screening Room, 25 S. Union Street, Lambertville

CatVideoFest is a compilation reel of the latest and best cat videos culled from countless hours of unique submissions and sourced animations, music videos, and, of course, classic internet powerhouses. CatVideoFest is a joyous communal experience, only available in theaters, and raises money for cats in need through partnerships with local cat charities, animal welfare organizations, and shelters to best serve cats in the area. Tickets are $9 for adults, $7 for students. One child attends free with each adult. Purchase tickets here.

Taste of Flemington Spring Restaurant Week

When: Sunday, March 8 – Friday, March 13
Where: Select restaurants in Flemington
