Farmers Markets Hunterdon County

Warmer weather is here, and with it comes fresh produce and flowers at area farmers markets. These markets and farm stands are currently open or opening in the next few weeks to offer patrons a host of locally grown and sourced products. Please be sure to check with the markets Covid-19 policies for a safe trip.

1. Hunterdon Land Trust Farmers Market, Happening List Winner

When: Every Sunday from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. from May 16 through November 22

Where: Dvoor Farm, 111 Mine Street, Flemington

Why we love them:  They have a great selection of organic fruits and veggies; all-natural beef, chicken and pork; cheeses; honey; artisan breads; locally roasted coffee; and more.

 

2. Lauber Brothers Farm & Country Market, Happening List Finalist

When: noon to 2 p.m. Saturdays year round

Where: 311 County Road 513, Frenchtown

Why we love them: Their sweet corn! Opening day at this family-run farm is May 1. They offer fresh produce and farm raised meat.

 

3. Stockton Farmer’s Market, Happening List Finalist

When: 8 a.m. – 3 p.m. Wednesday – Sunday

Where: 19 Bridge Street, Stockton

Why we love them: This year-round, indoor community market offers a nice alternative to the traditional outdoor markets, particularly during inclement weather. The market offers fresh local eggs, cheeses, milk, bread and rolls, as well as home cooked soups and deserts.

 

4. Stangl Factory Farmers Market

When: Every Saturday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Where: 50 Stangl Road, Flemington

Why we love them: Another year-round, indoor market, Stangl Factory Market features more than  30 artisan vendors in a unique atmosphere. Look forward to locally sourced produce, grass-fed meats, artisan breads and cheeses, pastured eggs, and more. Plus, there’s a fine selection of crafts, including turned wood, handspun yarn, and homemade soaps and bath products.

 

5. Holland Township Farmers Market

When: Saturdays, 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. starting June 13th and ending early September

Where: Holland Township Firehouse, 971 Milford-Warren Glen Road, Milford

Why we love them: In addition to a fresh assortment of produce this market has fresh-cut flowers, plants, herbs, sauce, teas, delectable sweets, angus beef, barbecue sauce, crafts, and more.

 

6. Bobolink

When:  Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday noon to 6 p.m., Saturday-Sunday 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Where:  369 Stamets Road, Milford

What we love about them: This farm and bakery, named for the ground-nesting bird that relies on undisturbed grasslands for its habitat, offers wood-fired breads, artisanal cheeses, and grass-fed meats. The store is set up for social distancing, or you can call ahead to order for pick-up. Call 908-864-7277 and leave message.

 

7. Cervenka Farm

When: Open seven days a week now from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. until the end of November

Where: 179 Klinesville Road, Flemington

Why we love them: More farm than market, this establishment offers a huge selection of fresh fruits and vegetables and baked goods like zucchini apple cinnamon cakes and fresh breads. They also offer other products like milk, eggs, ice cream, and raw honey.
