1. A Christmas Carol presented by the Downtown Performing Arts Center

Called by The New York Times “a tonic for adults, and for children a transfixing journey,” A Christmas Carol ran for ten years at Madison Square Garden and in 2004, became the basis of an NBC Hallmark Entertainment special starring Kelsey Grammer as Ebenezer Scrooge. The classic Christmas story comes to life as Ebenezer Scrooge, a miserly old man, learns the true meaning of the holiday when he is forced to rexamine his life through the visits of three ghostly spectors.
2. New Jersey’s Longest Running Holiday House Tour: The Stanton Holly Trail

The Stanton Holly Trail is kicking off the holiday season with their 52nd annual holiday house tour the first weekend in December. The Champagne Tour takes place at 5:00pm on Friday, December 6th, where guests are treated to a candlelight tour and enjoy champagne, hors d’oeuvres, dessert and coffee at the Stanton Ridge Golf and Country Club. Festivities resume for the general public starting at 8:15am on Saturday, Dec. 7th, where guests not only go on the house tour, but are also invited to a chef-inspired luncheon. The menu for the luncheon this year is Corn Chowder, Tossed Baby Greens with Vinaigrette, Melted Mozzarella and Chicken Sandwich with Pesto Mayonnaise and Holly Apple Cake. Guests may also enjoy a visit to the Holly Trail bakery booth and Boutique that features unique items from local crafters. Any guest with a sweet tooth will also be sure to visit the Candy Cottage, which features a diverse selection of homemade chocolates, fudge, hard candies, and other holiday goodies. And, as a way of saying “thank you” to its patrons, the Silver Tea house serves complimentary home-baked cookies and hot tea or coffee to all those attending the event.
Craft enthusiasts will be excited to know that instructions on how to make some of this year’s favorite ornaments will be available on the Stanton Holly Trail website following the event.
Homemade décor has always been the very center of the tour, with the original eight women from the village of Stanton having started the charitable house decorating in 1962. In that year, those community-driven women raised $300, which went towards the Stanton Reformed Church building fund. Now, 52 years later, New Jersey’s longest established holiday house tour serves over 1,000 patrons and has donated over $900,000, evenly divided, to both the Hunterdon Medical Center and the Stanton Reformed Church.
Tickets for the Saturday tour are $30, and $12 for the tasty, gourmet luncheon. The Stanton Holly Trail tickets can be purchased this year online via the Stanton Holly Trail website, www.stantonhollytrail.com. Tickets can also be purchased the traditional way by downloading an order form from the website and mailing it in. 3. Holiday Lights on the Farm

The Schaefer family farm is back with their annual Holiday Lights on the Farm. Bring your family for our drive through light display. View thousands of colorful farm and holiday themed lights from the comfort of your own vehicle. Twinkling and glowing for your enjoyment from Thanksgiving through New Years. Holiday Lights on The Farm is open Wednesdays thru Sundays 5:30PM until 9:00PM. The light show is closed on Mondays & Tuesdays. The cost is $12.00 per carload, $17.00 per passenger van, and $27.00 per busload. Purchase a season pass for $45.00 per car load and enjoy the show again and again!
