Yesterday, I had one of those “mommy mornings:” my kids woke up late, the dog peed on the carpet, my coffee maker committed suicide and my 4 year old had a mega tantrum causing my older kids missed the bus.
After dropping my older kids off at school, I drove into the parking lot at Haytown Nursery School in Califon, NJ completely at my wits-end. Then, from the backseat, I hear “time to go to school – come on mom—lets go!!!” I unbuckled my little man, grabbed his gear and, since it was one of those mornings, I carried him into school. The minute I opened the door, there stood Marge Moore, Director, who took one look at me and gave me something I didn’t know I needed: a hug. Yes my friends, I got a hug at preschool and it turned my entire day around.
In a world full of preschool drop off lines, fast food, texting and shopping on line, I often forget how nice it is to have a personal connection.
Haytown Nursery School is such a special place – they really have been“ nurturing the growth of children since 1974” and all three of my kids have relished their days at preschool, often remembering special everyday activities and feeling secure and loved simply because they got a morning welcome worth cherishing: a hug (or head pat or high five).
What happens when your child is dropped off at preschool?
I know that my son is safe, happy and secure. Thank you Haytown for providing an amazingly personal, hands-on relationship for students and parents a like. I treasure you.
