Beginner Friendly

Washington Crossing State Park Loop

The Washington Crossing State Park Loop is the perfect spot for an easy walk around the historic park named after George Washington and his historical crossing of the Delaware River on Christmas morning. The park is a 3.3-mile loop trail that typically takes about an hour and 15 minutes to complete. Stroll along for unobstructed views of the Delaware River and the fresh fall air.

Omick Woods Loop

This easy 1.5-mile loop in Ringoes is a perfect starter for anyone easing into hiking or just wanting to take walk or bike ride in nature. The loop takes about 32 minutes to complete and is a popular spot for hikers and bikers who come to New Jersey.

Musconetcong Gorge Preserve

For a more moderate hike try Musconetcong’s 3-mile loop near Bloomsbury, New Jersey. It takes about an hour and 33 minutes to complete. Besides hiking and biking, this is a popular spot for bird watching and dog walking! Bring your family, friends, and furry friend to explore this preserve with you on a nice sunny fall day.

Goat Hill Overlook

A beginner but looking for something beyond a typical park? This trail in Lambertville is for you! Take either the 1.0-mile or 2.4-mile trailhead for an incredible view over the Delaware River, Lambertville, and New Hope! Cushetunk Trail

For a moderate to challenging hike or bike ride, try Cushetunk’s 12-mile loop trail that takes about 5 hours and 20 minutes to complete. Also, look out for people birding, camping, fishing, and more! Your furry friends are also welcome on the trail while on a leash. Throughout the trail, take in the incredible views of the Round Valley Reservoir while surrounded by lots of greenery.
