Brave baby Tahoe is recovering at Tabby’s Place
This summer, compassionate people can change the world for sick and injured cats – and have their donations doubled.
Through mid-August, gifts to the Linda Fund at Tabby’s Place will be matched by local businesses and benefactors. The Linda Fund provides life-saving emergency and specialty care for Tabby’s Place’s neediest cats…like tiny Tahoe.
In June, the grey kitten and his siblings chose the wrong place for a nap: the inside of a truck engine compartment. Tragically, the kittens went undetected until the engine was started, and Tahoe’s siblings passed away. Tahoe was bleeding from his tiny nose, indicating head trauma, and he had sustained multiple fractures to his legs and hind end. Due to a lack of resources, Animal Control Officers feared they would have to euthanize the little guy. But, in a last, desperate attempt to save Tahoe’s life, they called Tabby’s Place.
Thanks to generous Linda Fund donors, Tabby’s Place was able to accept Tahoe, immediately providing world-class emergency treatment. Tahoe received intensive supportive care and had his right leg splinted. Once his leg has healed sufficiently, Tahoe will have surgery on his hip. The tiny “trucker” doesn’t let his big bandage or his scary start to life slow him down; these days, Tahoe’s biggest concern is getting enough toys and cuddles.
Tabby’s Place is only able to rescue cats like Tahoe thanks to the Linda Fund. Every dollar donated by August 10th will be matched (up to $216,688) – and every dollar donated will help save cats like Tahoe.
