It’s not quite Thanksgiving yet, but that’s not stopping Hunterdon County (and nearby) from celebrating! We’re seeing plenty of festive things to do this weekend! Here are just a few highlights. Plus, our 2020 Thanksgiving Guide is now LIVE, so be sure to check it out.
“Broadway Request Live: A Concert” at Music Mountain Theatre
When: Friday, November 20 through Sunday, November 29 with shows at 8 p.m. on Friday and 3 p.m. on Saturdays and Sundays
Where: 1483 RT 179, Lambertville
This is an MMT first! They’re asking patrons for the songs you’d like to hear in their Broadway Request Live concert. You will have the chance to send in a request or two and they will choose the concert line up from there.
Music Mountain Theatre is open for live shows again! (Health/safety precautions are in place.) You can also watch Friday night’s performance from the comfort of your car! Find out more and purchase tickets HERE.
Santa’s Workshop at Chirp

Gingerbread House Display and Lights at Peddler’s Village
When: November 19 through January 9
Where: Street Road and Route 263, Lahaska
While Peddler’s Village will not be holding their traditional Grand Illumination Celebration this year, they’ve stated that the lights WILL be on beginning November 19! Walk around, do some shopping and check out the Gingerbread House Display.
Peddler’s Village Family Mystery Walking Tours: Elf on the Stealth:
When: Fridays, November 20 through January 10. Fridays at 6 p.m. and 7 p.m.; Saturdays on the hour from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m.; Sundays on the hour from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m.
Where: Street Road and Route 263, Lahaska
It’s almost Christmas, and the Elf on the Shelf is missing! Join Mrs. Claus at the “North Pole” for a walking tour and help solve the mystery of the missing Elf on the Shelf. Tickets are $25 per person. It does not include dinner, but you can enjoy dinner before or after the show and receive a 10% discount at select restaurants by showing your receipt. 20 people per tour. Christmas Village in Philadelphia
When: Preview Weekend is November 21-22. Officially opens on Thanksgiving Day from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. After that, Friday through Saturday from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. and Sunday through Thursday from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m.
Where: LOVE Park and City Hall Courtyard, Philadelphia
The Christmas Village in Philadelphia is one tradition that is committed to providing a safe and fun experience this year!
The authentic open-air German-style Christmas Market at LOVE Park and City Hall will return from Thanksgiving Day, November 26 through Christmas Eve, December 24. Keeping in mind the health of vendors and guests, there will be a considerably modified layout and extensive safety precautions in response to COVID-19.
Logging & Firewood Cutting at Howell Living History Farm
When: Saturday, November 21 from 10 a.m. to 40 p.m.
Where: 70 Woodens Lane, Lambertville
Parking & admission are free.
Black River & Western Railroad North Pole Express
When: Select Saturdays and Sundays, beginning Sunday, November 22
Where: 80 Stangl Road, Flemington
This is BR&W’s most popular annual event! And while this year is a modified version of previous years, everyone should still have a magical time! The North Pole Express includes a train ride from Flemington to the “North Pole” and back, where you will meet/get photos with Santa.
