Swirling with the Swine Pig Roast at Unionville Vineyards

When: Friday, May 3 from 6 p.m. to 9:30 p.m.
Where: 9 Rocktown Road, Ringoes

Unionville Vineyards kicks off the spring season! Enjoy a delectable roast pig with accompaniments, sides, and desserts by The ‘Q’ Crew, a Ringoes-based BBQ caterer. Open wine bar, barrel tastings with winemaker Conor Quilty, and live Blues & Rock covers by the Eric Drylewicz duo will round out a spectacular night under the tent on the patio. $68 per person plus tax. Califon’s 3rd Annual Troutfest

When: Saturday, May 4 at 7:30 a.m.
Where: Califon Island Park, 130 Bank Street, Califon

This annual children’s fishing derby contest includes fly fishing, fly tying, food and prizes. Special trout will be stocked prior to the event, courtesy of sponsor Shannon’s Fly and Tackle Shop.

Third Annual Hunterdon Art Tour Kickoff Celebration

When: Friday, May 3 from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m.
Where: Hunterdon Art Museum, 7 Lower Center Street, Clinton

The event kicks off the annual art studio open house tour in Hunterdon County which takes place May 4-5.

Strikeout Hunger

When: Saturday, May 4 at 1:30 p.m.
Where: Riegel Ridge Community Center, 910 Milford-Warren Glen Road, Holland

The annual Milford-Frenchtown softball tournament that supports local food pantries has been expanded to include Holland and Alexandria townships. Cost of admission is a canned good or nonperishable food item.

Bird Walk at the Dvoor Farm

When: Sunday, May 5 from 8 a.m. to 9 a.m.
Where: 111 Mine Street, Flemington

Explore the bird habitat of the Hunterdon Land Trust’s Dvoor Farm. Juanita Hummel, of the Washington Crossing Audubon Society, will lead this hour-long bird walk. She’ll stop at several habitat sites and discuss why their preservation was vital for birds and other wildlife.

Family Weekend Nature Club

When: Sunday, May 5 from 1 p.m. to 2:30 p.m.
Where: Echo Hill Park, 42 Lilac Drive, Flemington

Join Park Naturalist Debra Reed for nature activities at Echo Hill Park on the first Sunday of each month. Attendees will play games, explore the outdoors, and participate in interactive activities.  Bring your family outdoors to have fun, enjoy health benefits, and learn about the wonderful wild world we live in.  Each session is $3 per child 12 and under (ages 4 and up, please). Accompanying adults are free. May’s theme is Incredible Insects.
