Stars from NBC’s The Voice, including Andrew DeMuro of Flemington, will be performing at the Stangl Factory August 18, 2017.

The evening kicks off at 7:30pm with the opening act, Brendan Fletcher.
Born and raised in Randolph, New Jersey and currently living in Brooklyn, NY, soulful singer/songwriter Brendan Fletcher got his start touring bars around the tri-state area. Influenced by the great rock, soul and blues musicians Bob Dylan, Johnny Cash, Otis Redding, Ray Charles, and Bruce Springsteen, Brendan writes and performs music with an old soul sound.

Brendan’s original song, “Boston,” climbed to #5 on the iTunes singer/songwriter charts, was inspired by his childhood summers spent on the Jersey Shore, his family, heartbreak, and his journey to find his unique voice.

In 2016, Brendan competed on the 11th season of NBC’s hit show The Voice, singing his way to the semi-finals. His powerful performances were praised by Rolling Stone as “soulful, elegant and stirring.” Brendan added new depth and his unique, raspy sound to popular hits; his rendition of Cyndi Lauper’s “True Colors” hit No. 2 on the iTunes’ overall chart, and his cover of “Whipping Post” by the Allman Brothers Band hit No. 1 on the iTunes’ rock chart.  Brendan’s pure sound and authentic presence onstage captivates audiences, transcending popular music today with the power of his voice and guitar.

Then, the fun continues with The Shades taking the stage at 8:30pm.

The Shades are a Chicago-based pop trio comprised of NBC brothers Phil & Mark Jacobson and Flemington’s own Andrew DeMuro, a member of Adam Levine’s team on Season 11 of NBC’s The Voice.

Equipped primarily with their voices and acoustic guitars, The Shades have developed a signature sound that encompasses elements of popular music from folk & rock, to soul & R&B.

Impressive arrangements and tight harmonies are the hallmarks of The Shades’ original music, and critics across generations have taken notice.

In 2015, their original song, ‘Take You Home,’ was featured in American Songwriter Magazine as a ‘Daily Discovery,’ and was chosen as one of ten finalists in NewSong Music’s International Songwriting Competition. Having graced a variety of Chicago’s stages, including House of Blues, Schuba’s, City Winery & Navy Pier, The Shades took to the studio for much of 2016 in preparation for the release of their first major recorded effort, a six-song EP entitled, ‘Miles Made of Inches.’ Singles ‘Take You Home’ & ‘The Wildfire’ were released on all digital platforms in early 2017.

Part of the proceeds of the night’s event will benefit Guitars over Guns, which delivers high impact arts-based mentoring programs to empower at-risk youth. By working collaboratively with schools and communities, we encourage young people to become independently productive members of society through individual expression, social interaction, and personal accountability.
