The Whitehouse Wind Symphony

For the first time in many years, concert band music will echo through the valley of the South Branch Raritan River.

The Town of Clinton Recreation Commission and the Red Mill Village Museum are pleased to present the Whitehouse Wind Symphony in concert on Saturday, July 9th at 6pm. The concert program is designed to be family-friendly, and will feature a wide variety of selections – everything from standard patriotic tunes to classic jazz, music from Broadway and film as well as traditional wind band literature.

Audience members are encouraged to bring picnic blankets and chairs. Admission is free, although donations will be accepted to benefit the band. In the event of inclement weather, the announcement to cancel will be made on the band’s website (whitehousewindsymphony.org) and Facebook page (facebook.com/whitehousewind).

The Whitehouse Wind Symphony is based in Somerville, NJ and performs under the directions of Branchburg resident James P. Sheeley, Jr. The ensemble was founded by conductor emeritus Casey Bork on April 15, 1996. Since its founding, the band has grown rapidly, attracting experienced musicians as regular members from all over New Jersey, as well as New York City and eastern Pennsylvania. It is now comprised of approximately 50 amateur and professional musicians who perform together regularly to enthusiastic audiences throughout central and northern New Jersey. It was recently voted the winner of the “Hunterdon Happening” list in the category of favorite musician/band for the second consecutive year.
