Let your artistic talents bloom by enrolling in a class at the Hunterdon Art Museum this spring. The Museum is offering more than 50 classes and workshops for children and adults beginning in April. Explore photography, sewing, painting, drawing and more.

Register before April 11 and receive a special discount on most classes. All programs are taught by professional artists and teachers.

Here are just a few highlights:

Programs for children & teens

Open Studio: Drawing & Painting (Starts Monday, April 24 at 4:30 p.m.): Whether you are experienced with drawing and painting or just starting out, here’s the perfect class to explore traditional wet and dry materials including pencil, charcoal, pastels, watercolor and acrylic paints. For ages 10 to 15.

Introduction to Fashion: Design Your Own Collection (Starts Tuesday, April 25 at 6 p.m.): Discover the basics for how to design a clothing collection. The class will take students from finding that spark of inspiration all the way to the final production sketches of your garments. They will learn how to draw fashion figures and clothing, about fabric and trim selection, how to measure clothing, and create a pattern and inspiration board. For ages 10 to 15.

Animals & Nature Mixed Media (Starts Friday, April 28 at 4:15 p.m.) Children will learn all about animals and create beautiful art based on creatures that can be found around the world or in their own backyards. For ages 4 to 6.

Programs for adults

Beginner/Intermediate Watercolor with Lena Shiffman (Starts Monday, April 24, at 7 p.m.): Learn basic and advanced techniques using washes, controlled edges, glazing, expressive brush strokes and corrections to take your talents to a whole new level. For teens ages 16 and up.

Plein Air & Still Life Painting with Oscar Peterson (Starts Wednesday, April 26 at 9:30 a.m.): Learn the techniques to start, establish, and finish paintings en plein air. If there’s inclement weather on class days, you’ll get an introduction to still-life painting. For teens ages 16 and up.
