Local Chefs Duel for the Best Soup Continues

The Rotary Clubs of Hunterdon County are promoting their Tenth Annual Hunterdon County Soup Cook-Off on Monday, February 27, 2017 from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m. at the Hunterdon Central Regional High School Commons, 29 Junction Road, Flemington, NJ, 08822. ShopRite of Hunterdon is proud to sponsor this event.

At last year’s event, 20 local restaurants entered their favorite soup, competing for “Best Soup in Hunterdon County”. 1st Place for People’s Choice was Hunterdon County Polytech for their Parsnip White Bean & Roasted Garlic, 2nd Place was Cook To Order for their Tomato & Spinach Bisque and 3rd Place was 55 Main for their Lobster Pot Pie. Judge’s Choice 1st Place went to 55 Main for their Lobster Pot Pie, 2nd Place was the Pattenburg House for their Broccoli Cheddar and 3rd Place was Atrium Café for their Hot & Sour Asian Chicken. Best Presentation went to Hunterdon Medical Center for their Carrot Ginger Soup.

The Hunterdon County Rotary Soup Cook-Off is a community awareness project of the Rotary Clubs of Hunterdon County, dedicated to helping people in our community. The proceeds of this event, totaling nearly $10,000 annually, are donated to the five food pantries of Hunterdon County to fight HUNGER IN HUNTERDON. In addition to the entrance fee of $15.00, attendees are asked to bring a can of food as a donation to the food
