The northern end of Lambertville continues it’s evolution into a foodie’s paradise with the recent opening of Liberty Hall Pizza, an authentic, wood-fired Neapolitan pizzeria featuring garden-fresh salads and draught root beer floats. The BYOB sits among popular food establishments in and near the Canal Studios Complex like Rojo’s Roastery, Big Bear Natural Foods, and OWowCow.
Ever since the eye-catching sign went up, locals have been eagerly anticipating opening day. And Lambertville residents received an extra special Christmas gift when Liberty Hall Pizza opened their doors on Saturday, December 20th.
The restaurant is the collaboration of pizza artisan Chris Bryan, who learned the pizza business over the past four years working for Nomad Pizza of Hopewell and Philadelphia, and business partner Danny Popkin of Modern Recycled Spaces.
They approach their menu “with an intensity that focuses on simplicity, consistency and the use of the freshest, most flavorful ingredients available.”
Popular pizzas include the classic Margherita di Bufala with Italian tomatoes, mozzarella di bufala, basil, Sicilian sea salt, olive oil, parmigiano reggiano; Anchovies & Long Hots with Italian tomatoes, mozzarella di bufala, anchovies, roasted Italian long hots, basil, Sicilian sea salt, olive oil, parmigiano reggiano; and Lemon Basil with smoked mozzarella, lemon slices, basil, baby arugula, Sicilian sea salt, olive oil, parmigiano reggiano.
A constant stream of hungry patrons flood the restaurant between 5pm and 10pm each night (except, of course, on Monday when the restaurant is closed). Ravenous patrons dig into their perfectly balanced pies, which feature a chewy, lightly charred dough; a delicately sweet tomato sauce; plenty of gooey cheeses, and fresh vegetables. But what’s the key to creating their perfect pizza dough? The oven! Libery Hall bakes their pies in a wood-fired oven at 850 degrees.
If you manage to save room for dessert, we recommend the Nutella Pizza with hazelnut chocolate spread, fresh fruit, powdered sugar.
