Do things go bump in the night at the Dvoor Farm House?

Find out on when the Hunterdon Land Trust hosts a paranormal event at the 218-year-old historic home on Friday, Oct. 21. HLT will offer two Treasure Haunterdon programs inside the house – one at 6 p.m. and the other at 8 p.m.

Members of the Paranormal Activity Research Society, based in Monmouth County, recently visited the Dvoor Farm House to determine the presence of abnormal activity. The team concentrated on the attic, basement (where a murder occurred in the early 1800s), second and first floor hallways, and the dining room.

P.A.R.S., who donated its time and services for this event, will analyze the data and share its findings. You’ll learn all about its equipment and perhaps hear a few ghost stories of some of the group’s previous investigations. The evening will include a brief tour of the Dvoor Farm House, and refreshments will be served.

“Part of our efforts in stewarding the Dvoor Farm is to introduce new audiences to the culture and history of the property, and we think this event will be a fun way to do that,” said Patricia Ruby, executive director of the Hunterdon Land Trust.

Treasure Haunterdon costs $25 per person; $20 for senior citizens, and reservations are required. Tickets can be ordered online securely by visiting www.hunterdonlandtrust.org, calling 908-237-4582 or by emailing judy@hunterdonlandtrust.org.

The Dvoor Farm House, headquarters of the Land Trust, is located at 111 Mine St. in Raritan Township.
