The Hunterdon Land Trust will host a free seminar on deferred giving and how anyone can create a legacy for the causes they support while providing themselves with a steady stream of income and tax benefits.

James J. Chesterton Jr. of Brighton Financial Planning will discuss options for deferred giving including bequests, gift annuities, charitable remainder trusts and life insurance on Thursday, Sept. 15 at 5 p.m. at the Dvoor Farm.

Chesterton has been a certified financial planner™ practitioner and a member of the Institute of Certified Financial Planners (ICFP), now The Financial Planning Association, since 1984.

He was co-founder and vice president of the Princeton Area ICFP in 1985 and 1986; president from 1986 to 1988 and chairperson of the board 1988 to 1990. Chesterton was the chairperson of the New Jersey Association of the ICFP in 1989 and was a board member of the Tri-County Estate Planning Council from 1989 to 1994. Currently he is a member of The Financial Planning Association of New Jersey and a member of the Princeton New Jersey Trust and Estate Study Group.
