Hunterdon Land Trust Farmers’ Market opens May 17 with safe social distancing..

Farmers’ markets are always a sign of warm weather. And while there will be changes this year due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the Hunterdon Land Trust Farmers’ Market is opening for another season!

Hunterdon Land Trust Farmer’ Market opens for the season on Sunday, May 17 at the Dvoor Farm in Flemington. The producers’-only market will run every Sunday from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. through Nov. 22.

Farmers & Vendors

Shop organic fruits and vegetables, all-natural meats, fresh-baked breads, cave-ripened cheeses, honey, pies, plants, locally roasted coffee, milk, eggs and more. About 24 farmers and vendors will participate in the market this season.

New farmers and vendors this year include Michisk Farm, Stewgler Farm & Forest (Gorgeous Goat), Fare Is Fowl and Evergreen Refill. (Note that these new farmers won’t all be at the market opening.)

Safe Shopping

HLT’s market will have a quieter opening this year because of the Covid-19 pandemic. The previously planned entertainment with music, yoga, a juggler, magician and former Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey Circus Bob Lloyd have been postponed.

To provide a safe shopping experience, HLT has adopted a series of protocols to protect all attendees. Some of these regulations include: limiting the number of customers to 50 at any one time, vendors and customers will be required to wear masks, customers will be offered gloves upon entering, hand sanitizer will be available throughout the market, seating will be removed, indoor facilities will be for vendors only, samples are prohibited, etc. This comprehensive list can be viewed on HLT’s website at this link.
