While it might still feel like summer, fall is officially here. Celebrate with a ton of fun activities this weekend – pumpkin picking, festivals, art, music and even wizards! HOBART Fall 2019

When: Opening reception Friday, September 27 from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m.; Show dates are September 28 and 29 and October 5 and 6 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Where: 718 County Road 519, Frenchtown

The Fall 2019 HOBART art show will feature some of the area’s leading sculptors and artists spanning the Delaware river region from New Jersey and Pennsylvania. The show offers a unique opportunity to experience sculpture installations by contemporary artists in a magnificent outdoor private setting, amongst rolling hills and beautiful native landscape. Both an indoor and outdoor show, guests are invited to explore the property’s several outbuildings, including a historic antique barn which will house the show’s painting and illustration exhibit. All artwork is for sale directly from the artists.

Artists included are sculptors Oki Fukunaga, Harry Gordon, Wendy Gordon, Bruce Lindsay, Rory Mahon, and Steven Snyder; mixed media artist Aylin Green; painter and illustrator Lauren Johnson; and painter and graphic designer Mike Pantuso.

Scare Farm

When: Friday, September 27 through Sunday, October 27
Where: 116 South Branch Rd, Hillsborough

Scare Farm, in nearby Hillsborough, has three haunted attractions, Creepy Hallow, The Slay Ride, and Paranoia and a not-so-scary corn maze to ensure Halloween fun for the whole family.

Pumpkin Train Ride

When: Weekends beginning Sept. 28
Where: Black River and Western Railroad, 245 John Ringoes Road, Ringoes

Catch the train at Flemington station out to Everitt Farms where you can take part in a corn maze, pumpkin picking and more. Visit web site for times.

Wizard World Harvest

When: Saturday, September 28 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Where: Readington River Buffalo Farm, 937 County Road 523, Flemington

Calling all Wizards and Muggles! This day is for you! Enjoy a day of wizardly fall fun with lots of magic. Tickets are $10 for guests over the age of 3. Tickets include a hayride tour, science show, access to The Great Barn (with spells, potions, trivia and crafts) and the Dark Alley (a walk-through experience). Pay-as-you-go activities include pumpkin picking, vendors with handmade crafts, food and specialty beers. There will be a costume contest!

Public Lands Day Open House Celebration

When: Saturday, September 28 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Where: Hunterdon County Arboretum, 1020 Route 31 North, Lebanon

In celebration of Public Lands Day, there will be an open house at the Hunterdon County Arboretum. Come learn about what the Parks & Recreation Division has to offer. Learn through interactive activities about the mammals, birds, and reptiles of Hunterdon County. Explore the trail system and learn about hiking, biking, horseback riding, and cross country skiing. Try some of the hands-on arts and crafts activities.

Raritan Township Community Day

When: Saturday, September 28 from noon to 5 p.m.
Where: Lenape Park, 115 Sergeantsville Road, Flemington

Enjoy a day of family fun with live performances, music, food trucks, inflatables, face painting, temporary tattoos, dunk tanks, games and more.

Frenchtown Community Campout

Where: Frenchtown Borough Park, Route 12 and Creek Road, Frenchtown
When: Saturday, September 28 at 4 p.m. through Sunday September 29 at 10 a.m.

Spend the night in Frenchtown Park enjoying a potluck dinner, movie and camping out under the stars in this third annual fundraiser for the borough park.

Whitehouse Wind Symphony Free Outdoor Concert

When: Sunday, September 29 from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m.
Where: Hunterdon Art Museum, 7 Lower Center Street, Clinton

The Whitehouse Wind Symphony, a community band under the direction of Branchburg resident, James. P. Sheeley, Jr., will present a free outdoor concert on the terrace of the Hunterdon Art Museum. This concert is presented in partnership with the Town of Clinton Recreation Commission and the Hunterdon Art Museum.
