The Red Mill Haunted Village

When:  Every Friday and Saturday from Oct 11 – October 26 from 7:30 p.m. – 10 p.m.
Where: Red Mill Museum Village, 56 Main Street, Clinton

When: The 29th annual Haunted Village will take place at the historic Red Mill Museum Village in Clinton and will include 10 acres of frights and scares guaranteed to be the highlight of your Halloween. For times and schedule, go to www.redmillhauntedvillage.org.

Fall Birding at Cold Brook Reserve

When: Saturday, October 12 from 8 a.m. to 11 a.m.
Where: 65 Old Turnpike Road, Oldwick

Explore Cold Brook Reserve in Tewksbury Township and look for fall birds!  Cold Brook is one of the best spots in Hunterdon County for sparrows and other fall migrants.  Take a walk led by Senior Park Naturalist Laura Bush through the rolling fields and hedgerow habitats, and check out the small pond on the property. For birders of any ability level; binoculars will be available to borrow. Please note that October is fall bow season so wear blaze orange if possible. Pre-registration required. Moon Light Corn Maze

When: Saturday, Oct. 12 and Sunday, Oct. 13 at 7 p.m.
Where: Lauber Brothers Farm and Country Market, 311 Route 513, Frenchtown

Wander through a corn maze by the light of a full moon. Afterwards, warm up by the bonfire. Refreshments will be available for sale. Tickets $15 for adults, $5 for children.

Pumpkin Decorating at Samuel Fleming House

When: Saturday, Oct. 12 from 1 p.m.-4 p.m.
Where: Fleming Castle Museum, 5 Bonnell Street, Flemington

Bring or purchase a pumpkin and decorate it while enjoying fall refreshments. Cost $2 per person. Castle tours are available at 1:45 p.m. and 2:45 p.m.

Main Street Half Marathon of Hunterdon

When: Sunday, October 13 at 7:30 a.m.
Where: Main Street Clinton to Main Street Flemington

This second annual event links two favorite Hunterdon County main streets, starting in Clinton and ending in Flemington. For more information, visit www.mainstreetmarathon.com, where training programs and challenges can be found. Swag included.

Hunterdon Land Trust Farmers’ Market

When: Sunday, October 13 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Where: Dvoor Farm, 111 Mine Street, Flemington

The Farmers’ Market features more than 20 local farmers and vendors offering organic produce, all-natural meat, honey, artisan breads, fresh-cut flowers, cheese, eggs, locally roasted coffee, native plants and more. This weekend, there’s even more events than usual! Join Lisa Perry in the wagon house at 9 a.m. for yoga. Cost is $15; please bring a mat. Rick Charwin will perform from 10 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Historic Preservationist Consultant Carla Cielo will share intriguing tales culled from her two decades researching and interviewing in her special presentation “Stories That Shaped the Lives of our Ancestors.” This free program will take place in the Dvoor Farmhouse at 11 a.m. Also, at 11 a.m., noted Nature Photographer Dwight Hiscano will lead a workshop that begins in the Dvoor Farm wagon house on how to take beautiful photos outdoors. Califon 7th Annual Street Fair

When: Sunday, October 13 from noon -4 p.m.
Where: Borough of Califon

Stroll through Califon’s picturesque downtown and enjoy great live music on two stages and a variety of tasty food vendors. The event will kick off with the Jon Slusher Memorial Bridge to Bridge 5K Run/Walk.
