Family First Friday – Frozen Friday at Hunterdon County YMCA

When: Friday, February 7 from 6:30 p.m. to 8 p.m.
Where: 144 W. Woodschurch Road, Flemington

Families are invited to an evening of Frozen themed crafts, activities, an obstacle course, snacks and fun. This is for ages 1-1/2 through 14. As a family event, at least one adult is required to participate with children. Register here.

Family Full Members: Free
Program Members: $6 per child
Non Members: $8 per child

Maple Tree Tapping at Howell Living History Farm

When: Saturday, February 8 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Where:  70 Woodens Lane, Lambertville

Hundreds of sugar maple trees line the banks of Moore’s Creek and the nearby woods at the foot of Baldpate Mountain. Come and help tap the trees as we begin the annual work of sap collection and maple syrup production. Visits to the sugar bush, sap house, and farmhouse kitchen are a must … especially if you plan to try this at home. Expert tree-tappers will give lessons on how to tap your backyard maple tree and make your own syrup.

2nd Saturday Story Time at Flemington Free Public Library – Endangered Animals: Sea Otters

When: Saturday, February 8 from 11 a.m. to noon
Where: 118 Main Street, Flemington

Free Second Saturday Story Times presents “Endangered Animals Around the World: A Hopeful and Proactive Approach,” based upon the book Don’t Let Them Disappear by Chelsea Clinton. February’s theme is “Sea Otters-Endangered.” There will be stories and fun facts, learning and conservation activities, craft and snack provided in the Community Room. Families are welcome. No advance registration required.

Cinderella at Music Mountain Theatre

When: Saturdays, February 8 through February 29 at 11 a.m. and 1 p.m.
Where: 1483 Route 179, Lambertville

This bright version of the classic children’s fairy tale has all the charm of the original story and all of the familiar characters: Cinderella and her stepsisters, the mean stepmother, the Fairy Godmother and, of course, the handsome prince. But Porter and Perry have added extra charm to their version. Simple, spry musical numbers add sparkle… and Cinderella has acquired a faithful dog, Rover, who is given the power of speech by the Fairy Godmother. Get your tickets here.

Free Champagne Tour at Samuel Fleming House Museum & Garden

When: Saturday, February 8 from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m.
Where: 5 Bonnell Street, Flemington

Enjoy a bubbly tour of the historic, beautiful Samuel Fleming House complete with champagne and non-alcoholic sparkling cider and artisan chocolates. Open to all ages.

Maple Sap Collection

When: Saturday, February 8 from 1 p.m. to 2:30 p.m.
Where: Echo Hill Playground, Flemington

Collecting the sap is a crucial step of the maple sugaring process!  Many methods are used on commercial farms, but the basic idea is the same—moving the sap from the maple trees to the stove.  Come participate in the process at Echo Hill! The group will meet at the playground and then walk to the sugar bush (five to ten minutes). This event is best for ages 5 through adult and costs $3 per person. (Children must be accompanied by an adult.) Register here.

Free Girl Scout Cookie Tasting/Smackdown at River Valley Realty

When: Sunday, February 9 from noon to 3 p.m.
Where: 45 North Main Street, Lambertville

Pop into River Valley Realty to taste and vote for your favorite Girl Scout Cookie! At 1 p.m., local celebrity sweet connoisseurs to taste and judge. Will they agree with the crowd? Have some fun, meet some neighbors, win prizes and eat cookies.  Reserve a spot here.

HAM It Up! 7th Annual Free Community Day at Hunterdon Art Museum

When: Sunday, February 9 from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m.
Where: 7 Lower Center Street, Clinton

Enjoy some quality family time creating cool art projects at the Hunterdon Art Museum’s seventh annual free community day, HAM It Up! Families can create still life paintings and character drawings, and participate in a nature art project using felt. There will be several other fun art projects too. Kids can also get their face painted or have a caricature drawing. No advanced registration is necessary.

Sunday Dinner Series – Southern Supper at 15 Landsdowne Catering & Mercantile

When: Sunday, February 9 with seatings at 2 p.m. and 5:30 p.m.
Where: 29 Race Street, Frenchtown

Enjoy a fabulous afternoon of all-you-care-to-eat Southern favorites served family style. Tickets can be purchased here and cost $29.95 for adults, $12.95 for children 6-12, and free for children under 6.
