1st Friday Night Fireworks in New Hope

When: Friday, August 2 at 9:30 p.m.
Where: the stretch of the Delaware River between New Hope and Lambertville

Visit New Hope and Lambertville on the 1st Fridays of each month for a dazzling nighttime display as well as arts, crafts, live music, and entertainment. This location provides a breathtaking backdrop to the fireworks and the opportunity to catch them all summer long.

Fireworks Friday Party at Lambertville Station Restaurant and Inn

When: Friday, August 2 from 8 p.m. to 11 p.m.
Where: Lambertville Station Inn – Riverside Room, 11 Bridge Street, Lambertville

Join the party at the Station for the best view of the fireworks! There will be live music performed by Phase 3. Tickets are $30 in advance and $40 at the door and include two drinks. Call Jackie (Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.) at 609-397-8300 ext 500 for reservations.

Mermaid at Music Mountain Theatre

When: Friday and Saturday, August 2 and August 3 at 11 a.m. and 1 p.m.
Where: 1483 RT 179, Lambertville

See The Little Mermaid in an all-new way. This family-friendly show is based on “The Little Mermaid” by Hans Christian Anderson. (Note: This is NOT the Disney version.) Tickets are $8 and can be purchased here.

Farmstead Cookout with Black River & Western Railroad

When: Saturday, August 3 starting at 11:30 a.m.
Where: Stangl Road and Route 12, Flemington

Catch the train at Flemington, then hop off at the Farmstead of Ringoes for a picnic meal. After your meal, play some lawn games, then get back on the train whenever you’re ready. You can even ride the train all day if you wish, no extra charge. Meal includes two hot dogs or one hamburger or cheeseburger, corn, baked beans, chips and a selection of soft drinks and water.

Nana’s Butterfly Charity Event at Chirp Workshop

When: Sunday, August 4 from 12 p.m. to 2 p.m.
Where: 32 Fulper Road, Flemington

Chirp Workshop (a 2019 Happening List Winner) is hosting a butterfly themed charity event in honor of the owner’s Nana’s 90th birthday. There will be butterfly crafts and sign-making, trivia, contests, giveaways, and even a butterfly tattoo contest. Tickets for the event are $30 and can be purchased here. Chirp will be donating 75% of the proceeds to St. Jude’s on Nana’s behalf.

Summer Flower Walk at Hunterdon County Arboretum

When: Sunday, August 3 from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m.
Where: 1020 State Highway 31, Lebanon

Enjoy a walk at the Arboretum while Senior Park Naturalist Laura Bush points out flowers that bloom in August. She will focus on the meadows, where you’ll see Common Milkweed, Goldenrod, Queen Anne’s lace, Spotted Knapweed, asters, and more. You will also visit the ornamental gardens and wetland areas.
