Schaefers Farms’ Frightfest

Every weekend in October, Schaefers Farms’ Frightfest 2014 has 4 nightmare inducing attractions- the Hayride of Horror, the Trail of Terror, the MassAcre Maze, and the Carnival of Chaos.

The Haunted Mill
Red Mill Museum Village, 56 Main Street Clinton, New Jersey

This haunted adventure includes a haunted trip through a maze on the property and then the historic red mill. This year’s theme is “The Rising Dead,” including a haunted tour of the mill and a wagon ride pulled by vintage tractors. Money from this event goes to the Red Mill Museum Village.

Scare Farm
116 South Branch Rd.Hillsborough, NJ 08844
When: September 25th– November 1st
What: Scare Farm, in nearby Hillsborough, has three haunted attractions and a not so scary corn maze to ensure Halloween fun for the whole family.

Pumpkin Picking and Frightfest
Schaefer Farms 1051 County Route 523, Flemington NJ 08822
When: Pumpkin Picking weekends and holidays from late September to late October during the day and frightfest at night.
What: Bring your family on a scenic hayride to our 40+ acres of home grown pumpkins, FREE with the purchase of a pumpkin. Then at night Ride, Walk and then Run For Your LIFE at Hunterdon County, New Jersey’s Original & Most Sought After Halloween Attractions!

Friday, October 23

Pumpkinfest, 6:30 to 9 p.m. Main Street, Clinton

The Clinton Guild invites residents and visitors to submit carved pumpkins for display along the streets downtown. Entries will be accepted the day of the event from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. at the pumpkin tent on Main Street. Prizes will be awarded. All entries will be displayed in three areas in downtown Clinton at 6:30 p.m. A panel of judges comprised of the Clinton Guild will offer prizes to winners of several categories, and pumpkins can be picked up at 9 p.m.

The Hunterdon Art Museum will be hosting Face Painting and Pumpkin Painting during the Pumpkin Fest from 4-7 p.m. and pumpkins (small ones) and paints.

Zombie Crawl and Borough Parade, Frenchtown

Registration for the event begins at 3 p.m. Zombies are to meet at one of several starting points designated by event staff, then craw to the TD Bank parking lot for a group dance to “Thriller.” There is no charge, but for $5, film and stage makeup artist Eric Fiorito will help you do your make up. The borough Halloween Parade for children starts at 7 p.m.

 

Pumpkin Weekend, Old York Cellars, 80 Old York Road, Ringoes

The vineyard will offer pumpkin flavored food pairings with their wines, local pumpkin cheesecake, and pumpkin pecan butter. Visitors are encouraged to come in costume for a photo they will take and make into a custom wine label. Information: (908) 284-9463.

Sunday, October 25th

Lambertville Halloween Parade

This annual event has been sponsored by the City of Lambertville for over 75 years, and is made possible through the generous donations made by local organizations and businesses. Everyone is invited to join the fun on Sunday, October 25th. The parade will assemble on York Street by Mary Sheridan Park at 2:45 p.m. and step off promptly at 3 p.m. The parade will proceed north on Union Street to Perry Street, and east on Perry Street to the Little League Field where the judging will be held.

Only parade participants will be allowed inside the Little League fence. All spectators are cordially invited to sit on the bleachers and observe from outside the fence. Refreshments and a Halloween treat will be available for all participants after they have passed by the judges’ table. Prize winners will be posted at City Hall in the late afternoon on Tuesday, October 27, 2014.

Registration is easy! On-line registration is available on this site by selecting “Register now for the 2015 Parade”. Please fill in each item, review your entry and be sure to finish your registration by selecting “Confirm”.

In case of rain, all activities will take place in the All-Purpose Room of the Lambertville Public School at their regularly scheduled times.

Friday, October 30th

Jack-o-Lantern Carving
Valley Crest Preserve, 14 Allerton Road, Lebanon, NJ 08833
On the night before Halloween, come to Valley Crest for all the pumpkin carving fun and none of the clean-up. We’ll provide a medium sized pumpkin and all the carving materials so your family can carve a spooky (or silly!) pumpkin together. After the pumpkins are carved, we’ll light them around our campfire, roast marshmallows and tell (not-so) scary stories to get ready for Halloween night!  $10 per pumpkin + $5 per child  (This program fills up quickly. Be sure to reserve your spot soon!)

Halloween Tailgate Party
All Franklin Residents Are Invited to Clinton Elks Club, Sidney Road
Gates open for set up at 6:00p.m. – 6:45p.m.
Costume Contest and “Trick or Treat”: 7:00-9:00p.m.

  • Participants should bring a trick or treat bag!
  • No Alcoholic Beverages are permitted on grounds
  • Each car or truck should be decorated for Halloween, and each participating vehicle should have
  • “Trick or Treats” to hand out (wrapped, sealed candy or trinkets). Vehicles will be judged and prizes
  • will be awarded. Franklin Township Recreation will provide refreshments.
  • Ken Mandoli will provide the music and will host a Costume Contest presented by the
  • Franklin Township Police Department.
  • This will be held in conjunction with Tailgate Trick or Treat!

The Frenchtown Halloween Parade
6:30 p.m.
Registration is at the American Legion (Harrison Street) at 4 p.m.
Those participating should meet at 6 p.m. on River Road; the parade moves up Bridge Street and judging of costumes and floats will be at the American Legion.

Saturday, October 31st

Spooky Sprint
Tuxhorn Park, 90 Church St., Bloomsbury
This 5K run and family fun walk that starts at 9 a.m. Oct. 31, with registration at 7:15 at Costumes encouraged. The run includes trick-or-treating and pumpkin-picking.

While no official event is scheduled, Lambertville traditionally hosts a killer Halloween celebration. See spectacular Halloween home displays and trick or treat among the community. Last year, the local musical group, Spare Parts, offered a surprise performance.
