What’s Easter without a search for multi-colored eggs, usually filled with candy and surprises? Hunterdon County hosts many such events, along with other ways to celebrate the holiday.

Lambertville Station offers two options for Easter brunch and dinner. Dine in the Lambertville Station Restaurant and enjoy an a la carte menu with dishes such as Eggs Benedict and French Toast Combo during brunch or dishes such as lobster & crab bisque, baked crab cakes, smoked ham and roasted rack of lamb during dinner. Or, enjoy an Easter feast in the Riverside Ballroom. The buffet is offered from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m., with dishes including bacon and sausage, made-to-order eggs Benedict, slow roasted ham, garlic herb turkey and more. View the complete menu. Buffet is $39.95 for guests over the age of 11 and $17.95 for ages 4 through 10.

Take a trip out to Bowne Station for an Easter egg hunt or ride the train to Flemington with the Easter bunny on special weekend excursions. Check the Web site for dates and times.

The Rabbit’s Hole at The Magic Shop

Venture down The Rabbits’ Hole at this Tewksbury Township toy store. This treasured tradition dates all the way back to 1948 and is open during normal business hours, plus Sundays April 7 and April 14 from noon to 4 p.m. Children (and adults if you crawl!) will love going through the pint-sized door and down the slide into a secret area of the shop. Each year features a new theme, and it’s decorated with dioramas and stuffed animals from the shop.

The Schaefer Farms Easter Egg Hunt takes place April 13th, April 14,thApril 19th and April 20.th Admission for kids is $10,  adults $3  (Hayride only). Take $1 off per ticket when you bring a non-perishable food item to donate to Norwescap Food Bank. Hayride is offered to the field, where kids can collect up to 10 eggs filled with candy. Find a golden egg and pick a prize. Ticket includes a visit with farm animals, bounce in Daisy Belle and hopping with the Easter bunny.

Easter egg hunt on horseback. Rides for both adults and children, which includes access to a petting zoo. Check the Web site for times and costs.

Salvation Army

When: Saturday, April 20  from 11 a.m.-12:30 p.m.
Where: 40 E. Main Street, Flemington

Children up to age 12 are welcome to hunt more than 3,000 eggs. Door prizes for each age group. Doors open at 10:30 a.m.

Clinton Parade and Easter Egg Hunt

When: Saturday, April 13 at 10 a.m.

Clinton’s Wagon Parade starts the day, where families can bring their decorated wagons and enter the wagon contest. Prizes awarded for funniest, prettiest and most creative. Then, bring a basket to hunt eggs. Cost $5 per child.

Why should kids have all the fun! At the completion of a Paid Wine Tasting, take a walk in the vineyard to find a hidden Easter Egg containing a number that corresponds to a special prize!
