Do you want to start fishing, or to improve your fishing skills?

Red Bank’s John F. Hancock is hosting a free, informative course at The Hunterdon County Library in Flemington this Saturday, August 15th from 1pm to 4pm. Topics will include personal care & safety, knot tying, lure selection by water color; types of lines used, tackle maintenance and usage, reading charts & water and launching your boat correctly.

Participants may bring one pole & reel for evaluation, but no hooks. There
will be casting practice at the conclusion of the course; sunglasses, glasses, or safety
goggles are required.

John grew up in Red Bank, NJ fishing in the Navesink River before wooden
hulls were replaced with fiberglass and modified my salt water fishing techniques
to fit local fresh water streams, rivers, and impoundments. He has taught United States
Power Squadron Course and ABC-3 to people seeking their required Boating Safety
Certificate. Additional USPS courses include Seamanship, Engine Maintenance, Piloting,
Advanced Piloting, Weather, & Cruise Planning.
