Coffee is my friend; it brings a smile to my face on the worst of mornings & warms me up on chilly nights. When my boyfriend wants to do something nice for me (or more likely work his way out of the dog house), he makes me a good cup of Joe to cheer me up.This morning was my first trip to Rojo’s Roastery in Lambertville, NJ, but it certainly won’t be my last. Being a small business owner, I spend a lot of time meeting at local coffee shops. Today, rather than meeting at our stand-by, Starbucks, the person we met with suggested Rojo’s. I had heard great reviews for Rojo’s but still expected a typical coffee house with perhaps a slightly better quality drink. When I stepped into Rojo’s today, though, and saw their fresh barrels of beans & sophisticated equipment, I immediately realized I had grossly underestimated them.
I drink my coffee black so there is no disguising the quality, and this morning’s cup was one of the best I have ever had. The owner’s passion for coffee shines through on their website, where you can even watch a video about their dedication to finding the perfect cup. Even better, they “are devoted to developing direct, sustainable, and financially beneficial relationships with the small independent producers and the communities in which they live.” Now you can not only enjoy your coffee but know that the small luxury is helping to support good people.
