The Woman’s Club of Tewksbury Township has invited thirteen restaurants to participate in “A Taste of Tewksbury”(sm) its biennial fundraiser sponsored by Tewksbury Fine Wines and Spirits of Oldwick, scheduled for March 25, 6-9 PM, at Merck and Company, 600 Corporate Drive, Lebanon, 08833. Gourmet food and premium beverages are the hallmark of the evening. The event will benefit “Points for Pain”, a fundraiser started by Tyler Cashman, a Tewksbury resident and a student at the Old Turnpike Middle School in Tewksbury.
Gourmet food dishes will be prepared by chefs of local restaurants, some new to the event and some repeats. Bex’s Eatery & Catering Co of Califon specializes in locally sourced ingredients for farm to table meals. The Bernards Inn of Bernardsville is a historic boutique hotel and restaurant providing world class accommodations and dining experiences. Boulevard Seafood Company of Somerville is both a retail store and a café serving casual lunches and dinners. Its seafood is direct from the Fulton Fish Market. Brunello Trattoria Restaurant and Bar of Flemington is known for its homemade Italian cuisine. The Clinton House of Clinton, best known for its sauerbraten and its bar with entertainment, is a high-end eatery featuring American seafood and steak classics. Conlins Café & Bakery of Somerville is a traditional café and bakery serving specialty coffees, homemade ice cream and artisanal breads, baguettes, beignets, croissants and pastries from the hands of a CIA educated husband and wife team. The Farm Cooking School of Titusville, also under the direction of a CIA chef, is a destination for communal cooking, learning and eating. Gourmet Expressions Café & Catering of Lebanon serves extraordinary food in comfortable surroundings. Melick’s Town Farm of Oldwick is best known for its locally grown vegetables, apples and cider, both sweet and hard. Metropolitan Seafood & Gourmet of Lebanon specializes in the finest and freshest fish of every kind for purchase or prepared for take-out. Oldwick General Store of Oldwick, located in an original 1790 store, is a counter service deli where the locals “hang out” for griddle breakfasts, its famous “sub” sandwich lunches and home baked goods. The Ryland Inn of Whitehouse Station, best known for elegant dining among old world charm, offers farm to table, local and sustainable ingredients for fresh food of the season. The Seventh Taste of Basking Ridge teaches the art of using home grown products’ sustainability or basic cooking methods based on “the seven food tastes”.
Approximately 100 five star wines, bourbon and whiskey tastings chosen by Tewksbury Fine Wines and Spirits will be sampled in a keepsake glass given to each attendee.
Celebrity Chefs Christopher Albrecht of The Ryland Inn and Scott Cutaneo of Oldwick General Store will be serving culinary delights. Music will be provided by Roulette, The Band.
