In the spirit of giving to the community, Yoga Essence of Lebanon and Hunterdon County Parks and Recreation are co-sponsoring this free yoga event. Let’s gather in the Arboretum gardens on the International Day of Yoga / Summer Solstice for 108 sun salutations to pause, unplug and find our focus. Surya Namaskar, also known as sun salutes, is a key asana sequence in yoga. It is a very systematic technique combining twelve asanas in a sequence. Surya refers to the sun and Namaskar denotes bowing down. Yogis devote this yoga practice for the appreciation, paying of honor and reverence to the source of all forms of life, the Sun. It is commonly practiced to strengthen, energize, and balance the body, mind, and breath. The Sun Salutations can be a very good workout for the cardiovascular system or it can be very relaxing and reflective when executed at a slower pace.
This session is suitable for both beginners and yogis with an established practice. Bring a yoga mat, towel or blanket and water to drink. Rain location, Cedars Pavilion at Deer Path Park.
Pre-registration is required, please call (908) 782-1158 for more information.
