Riley thriving at Tabby’s Place thanks to the Linda Fund

This summer, compassionate people can change the world for desperately ill and injured cats – and have their donations doubled.

Through the end of July, gifts to the Linda Fund at Tabby’s Place will be matched by local businesses and benefactors. The Linda Fund provides life-saving emergency and specialty care for Tabby’s Place’s neediest cats…like Riley.

In April, the skinny stray was nearly shattered by a car. Barely alive, the grey-and-white cat was so marred beyond recognition, it was initially impossible to determine his gender, and so it was necessary to choose a neutral name. Perhaps calling the cat “Riley” was also an act of defiant hope. Whatever life remained in this tattered body, it would take extraordinary care to become the “life of Riley.”

With so many fractured parts, including his skull, Riley’s prognosis was grave. If he survived the night, multiple surgeries lay ahead. Even then, there were no guarantees.

But, through world-class care paid for by the Linda Fund, Riley began to recover. Surgeries put Riley back together, and patient weeks of care restored his nutrition level, strength and trust. Today, Riley is a purry, joyful boy on his way to a full recovery.

Tabby’s Place is only able to rescue cats like Riley thanks to the Linda Fund. Every dollar donated by the end of July will be matched (up to $184,732) – and every dollar donated will help save cats like Riley.

Cat lovers may donate to the Linda Fund at www.tabbysplace.org, or by mailing a check made out to “Tabby’s Place” to Tabby’s Place: a Cat Sanctuary; 1100 US Highway 202; Ringoes, NJ 08551.
