July 28th marks Peru’s Independence Day and El Tule in Lambertville is inviting the community to celebrate with Peruvian Criollo cooking all weekend long – July 28, 2017 – July 30, 2017.
What is it? Creole style comfort food many Peruvians enjoy in their homes. Its influenced by Spanish colonial settlers who then created a Criollo iteration with inspirations from African, Japanese and Chinese immigrants.
Dishes, each served with rice and chili sauces, will include:
- Seco de Borrego y Frejoles or Peruvian Style Lamb Stew
- Carapulcra con Cerdo: sundried potato stew with Pork Adobo
- Aji De Gallina : Traditional Chicken Stew
- Peruvian Guinea Pig or Cuy
Bon Appetit!
