A Great Meal for a Great Cause — Get your tickets to Hunterdon Land Trust’s Farm to Table dinner on Sept. 30.

Several area farms are combining their efforts to make a meal that supports local growers.

The Hunterdon Land Trust will host a dinner that celebrates local and seasonal foods on Sunday, Sept. 30 at the Beaver Brook Country Club. This is a tasty way to support the places you love in the Hunterdon County area.

The celebration begins at 5 p.m. with a cocktail hour featuring wines from Beneduce Vineyards, appetizers, and live music with the Tom McMillan Trio.

This year, HLT honors its former executive director Margaret Waldock with the Treasure Hunterdon Award. HLT will also recognize the achievements of Beryl Doyle and Meg Metz.
You can order your tickets securely online at www.hunterdonlandtrust.org or by calling HLT at 908-237-4582.

Chef Matt McPherson, of Matt’s Red Rooster Grill, Ronald Rittenhouse, of Basil Bandwagon Natural Market and Susan Peterson, of Teaberry’s Tea Room, will create culinary magic with food provided by local farmers.

The four-course dinner begins with Bobolink Farm Frolic and Cave-Aged Cheddar Cheese accompanied by assorted pickled vegetables and fresh ciabatta rolls. After the salad course, guests will enjoy roasted butternut squash, Jersey corn and bacon risotto, and honey-brined Griggstown Farm chicken with a savory-chive infused cream. A vegetarian option is available. Dessert, using local apples, caps the festivities.

Local farms participating in the dinner are: Apple Ridge Farm, Best in Bloom Bouquets, Bobolink Dairy & Bakehouse, Comeback Farm, Fieldstone Coffee Roasters, Griggstown Farm, Locktown Farm, Phillips Farms, Purely Farm, River Lea House, Sandbrook Meadow Farm, Sweet Valley Farms and WoodsEdge Farm.

The event features a silent auction with a selection of unique items and experiences.

Everyone attending the dinner will receive a ticket to win a basket full of HLT Farmers’ Market goodies.

Farm to Table Dinner sponsors are: Basil Bandwagon Natural Market, Ron Subber and Martha Wood, Rick and Kathy Wolfe, and Matt’s Red Rooster Grill.

Tickets cost $150 each. Proceeds benefit HLT’s efforts to protect the places you love in the Hunterdon County area.

The Beaver Brook Country Club is located at 25 Country Club Road in Annandale.
