It consists of a wide combination of techniques sourced from aikido, judo, boxing, and wrestling, along with realistic fight training.  Krav Maga is known for its focus on real-world situations and efficient counter-attacks. Derived from street-fighting skills developed by martial artist Imi Lichtenfeld, Krav Maga has been refined for civilian, police and military applications.

Krav Maga encourages students to avoid confrontation. If this is impossible or unsafe, it promotes finishing a fight as quickly as possible.  Attacks are aimed at the most vulnerable parts of the body, and training drills provide maximum safety to students by the use of protective equipment and the use of reasonable force.

From an early age, we are ingrained with concepts such as stranger danger, bully defense, and college campus safety.  The tactics and self-defense techniques we teach are effective, and potentially lethal.  With that being said, respect is a life skill deeply valued by our certified instructors.  As such, our Krav Maga classes, as should all, promote the concept that a peaceful resolution should be the intention in any conflict situation. We take pride in preventing injuries; however, should a threat arise, our students are prepared.

RAPTOR TRUST & LORD STIRLING HIKE VAN TRIP
Jan 11 @ 8:30 am – 1:30 pm

 

Date: Saturday, January 11 (snow date January 18)

Ages: adults

Meet Senior Park Naturalist Laura Bush at the Hunterdon County Arboretum where we will take a County van to Lord Stirling Park in Somerset County.  We will take a winter hike there for about an hour (about two miles of hiking required).  Then we will visit the Raptor Trust, a bird rehabilitation facility in Millington that has 50 non-releasable birds of prey on display.  At the Raptor Trust, we will meet a live bird and enjoy a PowerPoint entitled Sharing the World with Raptors.  We will then have time to explore the display birds on our own.  Dress to be outside.  Feel free to bring lunch/snacks to enjoy in the van on the way home.  Pre-registration required.
