3006008_origThrough March 15, 2016, Broads with Brushes is displaying their art the The Bank of Princeton in Lambertville.

Broads with Brushes was founded by Ilene Rubin and Libby Wheeler, who had fostered a tradition of painting together every week. While working to display their individual works, they soon found that some locations only allowed for groups exhibits. The idea was born. Current Broads with Brushes members include:

Ilene Rubin: Ms. Rubin is a national, award winning artist who has been shown in exhibitions and shows in Boulder, Colorado as well as in Bucks County, Pennsylvania, Lambertville and Stockton, New Jersey, Rosemont New Jersey, and Woodstock, Illinois. Ilene Rubin has been involved in art in some capacity, and most of the time in many capacities, since she was a young child. She won her first drawing award at the age of 9. She has painted murals, boots, purses, a line of women’s and children’s clothing, furniture, walls and even a radiator and closet doors with motifs that range from folk art designs to landscapes. Basically, anything that can be painted is in serious consideration for painting. She is still painting ‘stuff’ but spends most of her time now painting the landscape.

Libby Wheeler:  Libby loves color. Her design acumen shows through with everything that she paints. While Libby is also an interior designer, it’s her love of color that has her running for her brushes. Her style is very easy to spot and she uses color to express value, composition and light.

Jeannette Trigo Gonzalez: Jeannette Trigo González focuses on seascape paintings capturing Caribbean scenes and the rural landscape of the Northeast. Her landscapes cover the farmlands of Vermont, Connecticut, and Pennsylvania. They include the colorful display of autumn as well as the deeper colors of summer. Her seascapes recreate the calming presence of a tranquil sea or the majestic crash of a wave breaking on a rocky beach. She works on pen and ink, oils and watercolors.

Lucia Grilletto: Lucia Grilletto uses glass as her canvas. Her paintings are reverse paintings on glass. Colorful, full of detail and ingeniously wrought, you won’t see anything like it. This is a centuries old process which Lucia has beautifully mastered.

Katalin Luczay:  Working primarily in oils Katalin Luczay is also adept in pastels and acrylics. Her works are a revelation of the dynamic movements and colors of sky and water, as particularly revealed in her seascape art. Besides being a seascape and landscape artist she is also a portrait painter, and has done many commissioned works that are in international collections.

Diane Greenberg: Diane Greenberg is an award winning regional artist based in New Hope, Bucks County. Diane has had her work accepted into dozens of juried shows and won numerous awards. Diane’s drawing will be published in 2015 in Strokes of Genius 7: Depth, Dimension + Space.

View their art at the Lambertville gallery through March 15th. All art is for sale, and will be available for purchase.
