Forget the cheese, pair your wine with art next weekend.

Vintage North Jersey is hosting an Art and Wine Trail Weekend on March 22 and 23. Wineries on the Vintage North Jersey Trail, including those in Hunterdon County, will be serving up art along with wine.

“Each winery will have its own take on the weekend, but look for plenty of finished pieces, plein air demonstrations, and even some chances to get your own hands on some canvas and oil. We have plenty of masterpieces to be tasted as well, of course,” Vintage North Jersey announced on its Facebook page.

Hunterdon’s Old York Cellars, located in Ringoes, is hosting an exhibition and meet and greet with members of The Arc Mercer’s Arctists Collective.

“The organization offers creative courses to individuals with mental and physical disabilities in the Greater Mercer County area,” explained Narendra Haynes of Old York Cellars.

Members of the Arctists Collective will be showing individual works and drip paintings. The winery’s 1,100-square foot exhibition space will be open Sunday and include a dozen or so paintings by the group.

“On Saturday we will have a smaller version of the exhibition in the winery’s tasting room,” Haynes said. Hours are 12 to 5 pm both Saturday and Sunday. In addition to the exhibition, visitors can also enjoy tastings, tours, and an indoor picnic area.

For those who want to trek a little further north, Villa Milagro Vineyards in Finesville is hosting a day filled with photography and, of course, wine.

Villa Milagro is hosting an exhibit of works by local photographers. Plus, visitors can bring their camera and take a “photo tips” session, scheduled for 2 and 4 p.m. on both Saturday and Sunday of that weekend.

There will be wine tastings and appetizers available, plus a gift wine glass to take home. Admission to the event at Villa Milagro is $5.

At Terhune Orchards in Princeton, local artists will be painting in the orchards. Work will be displayed for show and sale. Plus, visitors can taste wine and explore the farm.
