With a chill still in the air, thoughts of America’s favorite past-time may not be top of mind at the moment. But if your kids are going to be playing the game come spring, baseball and softball team registrations deadlines are looming. Here’s a roundup of leagues in Hunterdon County:

North Hunterdon Youth Baseball

A Cal Ripken and Babe Ruth Baseball and Softball league, North Hunterdon offers teams for children 4 through 7. While registration officially closed on Feb. 15th, the Web site claims the league is still accepting signups. The season begins March 30th. The league also has a traveling team.

Geared to children ages 3-5, Clinton Township’s Recreation Department hosts T-ball teams that aim to help each child develop skills and understanding of the game, which is played at Bundt Park.The season begins April 24th. Registration is currently open.
Delaware Township Baseball and Softball

Delaware Township’s recreational baseball and softball program offers teams for kids ages 5 through 12. The season runs from April through June, with a tournament baseball program that runs from May through August. Registration is currently open. Opening day is slate for April 25th.
