Clinton House, voted Best Steak Dinner on the 2021 Hunterdon Happening List, has changed things up a bit in the wake of COVID-19. It’s offering curbside pick-up, a grocery delivery service as well as indoor dining. Reservations this year are a must.  The main dining room includes a fireplace.

The Frenchtown Inn is offering Turkey Takeout this year and the restaurant will be closed on Thanksgiving Day. The takeout is a package deal, one price for all items. Choose between a cooked and uncooked turkey, a choice of dessert and which pick up time is most convenient. Pickup is on Wednesday, November 24th from 1 pm-3 pm. Each order will feed 8-10 people and will include turkey, sausage stuffing, candied sweet potatoes, broccoli and blue cheese, whipped potatoes, cranberry chutney, pan-juice gravy and dessert (pumpkin cheesecake or apple crumb). Lima Family Farms sells their pasture-raised turkeys that make for the perfect Thanksgiving centerpiece. Come by the store and fill out a reservation form. All turkeys are $5.50/lb and there is a $40 non-refundable deposit that will be applied to the final cost of the turkey. Reservations are on a first-come-first-serve basis and reservations are not accepted online. Orders will be vacuum sealed and available for pickup at the farm on Tuesday, November 23rd from 1-5pm and Wednesday, November 24th from 10am-2pm.

Christmas Village in Philadelphia

Christmas Village in Philadelphia is an outdoor holiday market event in Center City Philadelphia, which is modeled after traditional Christmas Markets in Germany. Vendors in wooden booths will set up shop during the holiday season to sell a wide variety of international holiday gifts, ornaments, jewelry and high-quality arts and crafts, as well as traditional European food, sweets and drinks. The unique atmosphere of lights and delicious smell of waffles, gingerbread, bratwurst and mulled wine will bring your family into the perfect Christmas spirit.

A holiday tradition at Peddler’s Village since 1984, the Gingerbread Competition and Display has more than 75 creative and whimsical entries in the categories of: NEW! Two Town Turkey Trot! Lambertville New Hope

Work off some pre-dinner calories at the Fifth Annual Two Town Turkey Trot. The streets of Lambertville, NJ and New Hope, PA will fill with runners working up an appetite for their turkey dinners. There will be a 5k run or a 1 mile walk. Race registration is required and prizes will be given. Early bib pick up is at the Lambertville House on Wednesday night (11/24) from 5-8 pm. Register here.

CEA Johanna Foods Turkey Trot

When: Thursday, November 25th
Where: Flemington, NJ

On Thanksgiving Day, participate in the 29th Annual CEA/JFI Turkey Trot. The even is New Jersey’s original Turkey Trot and consists of a 5k run and 2m walk through the streets of Flemington, NJ. Each year, the CEA/JFI Trot has attracted upwards of 6,000 runners and walkers who help raise funds for CEA’s employment programs that benefit hundreds of individuals with disabilities. The event will be hybrid this year with both in-person and virtual ways to participate. Learn more here.
