Black River Roasters is an artisan coffee roastery and café located in Whitehouse Station, NJ. They specialize in organic and Fair Trade certified coffees as well as ultra-premium coffees sourced from small-yield cooperatives and estates. They maintain the highest level of quality control while roasting their coffees, insuring a cup that never tastes bitter or burned. Their goal is to provide you with the finest cup ofcoffee in the most environmentally friendly way.
The café provides an experience like no other. You can come in and enjoy a cup of coffee while watching them roast. If you want to learn even more about the world of coffee, you can schedule a coffee cupping with them where you taste coffee from different regions and learn about the roasting process.
Their menu offers everything from a standard cup of coffee to traditional espresso drinks. They also have a selection of Pour Overs to choose from, which is a whole new way of tasting coffee. A Pour Over is coffee brewed individually by the barista. This allows the barista to control every variable in the brewing process creating a cup that highlights the unique characteristics found in that coffee.
Any iced coffee fans out there? Black River Roasters cold brews their coffee resulting in a cup that is over 70% less acidic and ultra smooth. Their entire cold brew selection is served out of what they like to call a “Javarator”, which is a kegerator for coffee. If that is not cool enough, they also have a nitrogen-infused coffee that pours like a Guinness and has a very creamy mouth-feel to it.
Did we mention that majority of the items found at the café are organic? Their coffee is USDA Certified Organic and they use all organic milk, half and half, sugar, honey and cocoa. Additionally, they have Silk Soy, Almond and Coconut milk that you can choose from for your drink.
