The Holiday Season kicks of on Friday November 27 with Lambertville’s retailers offering extended hours Friday and Saturday to 9pm.

Two Town Fun Run with Santa  
Saturday November 28
The Holiday Fun Run is the jolliest activity of the year and your chance to join others in spreading the spirit of the Holidays to others in need. You can run, walk, roll or skip it, dance to entertainment along the way!  This very short course will take you from the Bucks County Playhouse across the bridge into Lambertville, through the central business district and back to the Playhouse.

They’re aiming to raise money to support Fishermen’s Mark a local non profit who provides assistance to those who are less fortunate here in the New Hope and Lambertville area.

Come out dress up like Santa, wear a ugly sweater or just have fun.  Its all for a good cause!

Participants and supporters are asked to bring along a donation to Fishermen’s Mark.  The list of holiday needs can be found at www.fishermansmark.org For more information or to register at www.glnhcc.org (cost $20.00)

This year’s event takes place on  There will be caroling by Flemington Cub Scout Pack 61, and Santa on the firetruck, giving children fresh oranges and candy canes. The lighting is hosted by the Rotary Club of Flemington. Their first lighting was in December of 1923.

Christmas on the Farm

Revisit the 1900 era on a horse drawn wagon to help shock and pick corn, and return to the barnyard to help shell it, grind it, and bake it into cornbread. Visitors can participate in planting, cultivating and harvesting of crops, to care for our animals, to sweep the barn, to make soap, butter and ice cream, and of course to sit under the maple tree and talk about the future.

Holiday Lights on the Farm

Come out to Schaefer Farms during the month of December for countless hours of winter and holiday fun! The North Pole Express

This is an exciting holiday fun family train ride to North Pole Station to visit Santa and Mrs Claus! Enjoy hot cocoa and cookies, singing along with the elves, a chance to tell Santa your Christmas wish, and much more. This is a special experience that the entire family won’t forget. The train operates rain or shine. The North Pole Express runs as listed: All trains depart Flemington Station and operate round-trip. Allow approximately two hours for your trip.

Storefront Decorating Contest
Local merchants in Lambertville and New Hope will be decorating their store to celebrate the holiday season.  Stores will be judged and prizes will be awarded to the winners on both sides of the Delaware.

Mulea, McCarter Theatre Center, Contemporary Garden Club, Keris Tree Farm & Christmas Shop, Dogwood Garden Club, and Stony Brook Garden Club of Princeton. Festival of Trees is open to the public during regular museum hours. No reservations are required.

Polar Express

Train Ride departs from Lehigh Junction located in the Historic Main Street area of Phillipsburg. On the train, you will re-live the experience of the little boy in The Polar Express. The story focuses on a little boy who has been told by his friends that there is no Santa Claus. Unwilling to believe this, he lies awake in his bed on Christmas Eve, waiting for the sound of Santa’s sleigh. Instead, he hears the hissing steam and squeaking metal of the Polar Express as it stops outside his window, ready to take him and other children to the North Pole. During your ride you will listen to this wonderful story, every child will be served hot chocolate and cookies ( parents who wear their PJ’s also will receive chocolate and cookies) and visit with Santa. Every child will receive a very special bell from Santa. Only those who believe can hear the sound of Santa’s sleigh bell, can you? Feel free to wear your pajamas!

Dickens’ Day

Dickens’ Days is an annual event that transforms Clinton into a Victorian Village. Visitors can expect to interact with Scrooge, Charles Dickens, and Father Christmas as they stroll through downtown Clinton entertaining shoppers. The town will be decorated for the holidays, with toy soldiers on the famous Clinton Bridge, holiday greens, and twinkling lights. Horse drawn carriage rides, in full Victorian costume, offer a glimpse into the past. Musical performances of all genres will be performed by local artists and music groups throughout the weekend.

Hunterdon Holiday Parade

The annual Hunterdon Holiday Parade in downtown Flemington provides an opportunity for Hunterdon County businesses and its entire community to have a festive time together during the holiday season!  This year, kids from HealthQuest’s USA Gymnastics, Q-Dynamics Dance and Hammerheads competition teams will be marching in the parade on the club’s behalf.  Come out to show your support for HealthQuest and Hunterdon County!

The Annual Christmas Delaware River Crossing Reenactment
December 13th 10 am- 4 pm & December 25th 12 pm- 3pm 2015 ( Both crossings starts at 1 pm)

On Christmas Day every year, re-enactors assemble at Washington Crossing State Park, Pennsylvania, and make their way across the Delaware River to New Jersey. The annual event commemorates the Christmas Day crossing made by Gen. George Washington and his troops in 1776. It was an historic undertaking that resulted in defeat of the Hessian troops in the Battle of Trenton. You can attend this year’s event in Washington Crossing State Park, Pennsylvania. Depending on the weather, the crossing will begin at 1 p.m. The event/village activities will occur from 11am to 3pm, with the crossing time occurring around 1:00 pm, beginning at the Pennsylvania side at Washington Crossing State Park. Those who cannot attend on Christmas can watch a full dress rehearsal on Dec. 7th from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. (actual crossing at 1 p.m.).
